Land MapThe City of Des Plaines annually convenes a Joint Review Board (JRB) for every one of the City’s four Tax Increment Finance (TIF) districts. Illinois State Statute requires every TIF district submit an annual report to the State of Illinois and conduct a Joint Review Board annual meeting to review the report. Each JRB is comprised of all the taxing bodies pertaining to every property within that TIF (Cook County, school districts, park districts, etc.).

Most Current TIF Reports:

The City provides the reports to each taxing district and the taxing district sends a representative to the JRB annual meeting. Customarily, the City conducts all TIF reviews sequentially in one session (TIF No. 1, TIF No. 3, TIF No. 5, TIF No. 6, TIF No. 7, & TIF No. 8.) JRB meetings are posted and announced, as are all City meetings, in accordance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act and are open to the public. They have typically been scheduled in August or September.
