The Planning & Zoning Board (PZB) conducts public hearings on petitions from the public for variations, conditional uses and development proposals requiring relief under the City of Des Plaines Zoning, Subdivision and Sign Codes. Information on Planning and Zoning in Des Plaines can be found here.

The Planning & Zoning Board has the final approval for Standard Variations. For all other requests, the Board makes a recommendation to the City Council which makes a final determination as passed in a city ordinance. Occasionally, the PZB hears appeals from petitioners that have applied for permits but the permits were denied by the Zoning Administrator. In these issues, the PZB’s determination is final.

Vetter Pharma, the property owner, will provide an overview of their preliminary concepts, answer questions, and collect feedback about proposed building for manufacturing and office space to be comprised of approximately 150,000 square feet at the north end of the existing property. No alterations to the three existing office buildings are proposed at this time. Further details will be presented by the applicant at the workshop and the applicant’s team will be available to answer questions and hear preliminary feedback from the public.
